Chicken Broth

In Portuguese: Canja de Galinha(1)

Ingredients:

  • 1/2 chicken, preferably with little eggs in it
  • 2 l water
  • 1 onion
  • 2 carrots
  • 1 sausage (optional)
  • 1 handful of rice or noodles

Directions:

Place the prepared chicken in a pot with the water, the onion and the carrots and season with a little salt.
Let it boil well, with the lid on.
As soon as the chicken is cooked, remove the onion and the carrots and add the noodles or the washed rice, as soon as the broth is again boiling.
Serve very hot, putting a little shredded chicken and some little eggs in each plate.
